Mobile Power Solutions (MPS) is your partner for Lithium-ion battery pack assembly for low volume or mission-critical applications. We are AS 9100 and ISO 9001:2015 certified, as well as ANAB accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Our in-house battery technology group, headed by a PhD electrochemist, interfaces with your engineering group, functioning as an extension and integral part of your design team.
Our staff has decades of experience in their respective domains across all aspects of battery system development, assembly, and manufacturing. This experience has enabled them to sucessfully complete over 1900 projects over two decades. This level of technical support and battery pack assembly knowledge, along with our extensive testing facility and analysis, will help you achieve your design and production objectives for both your OEM equipment and the affiliated battery pack. MPS has produced batteries that can deliver over 60 Volts and produce over 100 Amps of power.

IDEATION AND CONSULTATION
The team at MPS has extensive experience collaborating with OEM’s to support the development of their OEM equipment and affiliated portable power accessories. Each team member has decades of experience in their respective area of expertise. This experience has been developed working on hundreds of battery system designs. Our understanding of both conventional and emerging battery technologies can help define the range of viable solutions. OEM’s can best leverage the collective experience of MPS when we participate early in their development project. Regardless of the OEM’s challenge with portable power and batteries, our team is equipped to provide the best possible solution.
CELL SELECTION AND SOURCING
At the heart of any battery pack, is the lithium-ion cell. Choosing the optimal cell for your battery pack can determine the success or failure of an OEM’s equipment. The selection of the optimal cell requires 1) extensive knowledge of the performance profile of cells under consideration, 2) ability to test available cells for “corner case” usage scenarios and application usage, as well as 3) an understanding of the realistic usage profile for the device (and it’s battery pack). This profile includes environmental ranges, discharge profiles, charging regimens, expected shelf life, transportation requirements, and price targets.
SYSTEM LEVEL BMS
The system control function of every Lithium-ion battery pack is the Battery Management System (BMS), which is a custom Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) with mandatory and optional features to protect the battery pack and the mobile device.
The BMS provides the intelligence of the system for typical functions such as the protection circuitry, thermal sensors, fuel gauging to predict run time, serial data communications bus, state-of-charge indication for the device users. Advanced features implemented in the BMS may include encryption (to authenticate with the mobile device), cell balancing for higher voltage batteries, integrated charging, and battery heater activation.

For each project, Mobile Power Solutions (MPS) creates and assigns a multi-functional team to support your development efforts. This team consists of electrical and mechanical engineering resources, as well as project management, account management, testing and approvals experts, cell technologists, and manufacturing engineering (as dictated by the project scope).
REMOTE MANAGEMENT
Most mobile or stationary smart devices under development contain embedded Internet of Things capability. Whether it is a stationary back-up battery or a mobile handheld device, these smart products typically offer a remote management application that allows the owner/operator to control and monitor the device.
